Mayor of Bilbao visits AIC
Accompanied by Deputy Mayor and Transport & Circulation Delegate | 15/02/2011Bilbao, 15.2.2011--- El AIC-Automotive Intelligence Center played host today to Mayor of Bilbao Iñaki Azkuna, during a visit to the Center on which he was accompanied by Deputy Mayor and Transport & Circulation Delegate Ibon Areso.
Azkuna was looking to find out more about the Centers open innovation model and the sort of activities the AIC facilities host. He also explored the ways the Center cooperates on mobility and transport issues.
After the visit, Azkuna described the AIC as a landmark in renewing management models in an industry that is vitally important to Bilbao, Biscay and the Basque region as a whole.
The visit is part of an AIC policy designed to showcase the capabilities of the Basque automotive industry to professionals, public and private bodies and other organizations with direct or indirect links to the sector, in an ongoing search for opportunities for cooperation.
AIC is a foundation promoted and backed by Biscay Provincial Council, Amorebieta-Etxano and Ermua city halls, a group of leading edge firms from the automotive industry and Basque automotive cluster ACICAE. AIC integrates knowledge, technology and industrial development under one umbrella in a bid to improve competitiveness in the industry.
