AIC launches Grant Program for Training in Automotive Industry
Grants to support knowledge-gathering by future automotive professionals In-house training at firms located in Basque Country and abroad | 21/02/2011AAAABilbao, 21.2.2011--- AIC-Automotive Intelligence Center has launched its Grant Program to help people train in the automotive industry and improve the knowledge levels of future professionals.
With 30 AIC-First Approach and AIC-International Approach grants available in this, the first edition of the program, participants will have the opportunity to train and acquire in-house experience in one of the worlds most demanding industries, with the added bonus of improving their curricula and learning languages.
Participants will spend from 6 to 9 months working at companies in the Basque Country or abroad, mainly in emerging markets like China, India, Brazil and Mexico.
Both grant categories target graduates in engineering, business, economics and marketing. A general training phase will be followed by a specific in-house period, the only difference between the two categories being that International Approach grant holders go abroad to get their experience.
General AIC objectives include improving training for professionals in the automotive industry at all levels, facilitating new qualifications for the industry of the future, acting as an external or internal company training center and attracting talented people to the sector.
AIC recently renewed the support it gives the Formula Student teams as a means of improving knowledge, training and research in the automotive industry, with special emphasis on the upcoming generations of engineers entering the labor market after graduating from university.
AIC is a foundation promoted and backed by Biscay Provincial Council, Amorebieta-Etxano and Ermua city halls, a group of leading edge firms from the automotive industry and Basque automotive cluster ACICAE. AIC integrates knowledge, technology and industrial development under one umbrella in a bid to improve competitiveness in the industry.
