Globalization of automotive industry after the crisis and the role of Latin America on the agenda Professionals from the industry to meet in Bilbao | 09/05/2011

Bilbao, 9.5.2011--- On July 6, AIC-Automotive Intelligence Center and APD (Association for Progress in Management-North Zone) are holding the 2nd Strategic Automotive Encounter in Bilbao, to which professionals from the automotive industry are invited to meet with their colleagues.

On the agenda for this second edition, to be held at AIC, is The Globalization of the Industry after the Crisis-The Role of Latin America.

Today the automotive industry is recovering from one of the biggest transformations of its history, one that has forced company executives to redefine their business models to succeed in a competitive, globalized world. For this reason, AIC and APD have decided to use strategic analysis shared with professionals from the industry to explore the new situation.

What attendees will be dissecting are the new geo-strategic, technological and commercial paradigms arising out of the crisis and the major role of Latin America, Mexico and Brazil in particular. To that end, the organizers have invited carmakers, tier-one and tier-two suppliers, without neglecting other players and clusters with a fundamental role in improving competitive levels.

Under the title: Automotive companies and the change in the business model-The executives’ role, the first edition was attended by 150 professionals from the industry.

AIC is a foundation promoted and backed by Biscay Provincial Council, Amorebieta-Etxano and Ermua city halls, a group of leading edge firms from the automotive industry and is run by Basque automotive cluster ACICAE. AIC objectives include attracting knowledge to the Basque Country with a view to sharing experiences with the industry’s leading professionals.

Created in 1956, APD is a non-profit making organization set up to make a major contribution to the improvement and development of business management. With 3,100 associate companies the organization runs an average of 290 training and information events a year attended by 48,000-plus executives.
