TECNALIA and AIC organize the First European Low-Cost vehicle benchmarking
Practical analysis of their components the aim | 08/11/2011Bilbao, 8.11.2011--- With the cooperation of Basque automotive cluster ACICAE and Inovev, Tecnalia Automoción and the AIC-Automotive Intelligence Center organized today the first European-wide Benchmarking for low cost vehicles at AIC Boroa.
This latest initiative is designed to facilitate practical analysis of components for low-cost vehicles components, which appear to have a secure future in emerging markets. During the event, three cars from different companies and countries, the Lifan 320 from China, the Tata Nano from India and Frances Dacia Duster.
All three vehicles will be exhibited completely disassembled and analyzed., Attendees will compare technologies, product concepts and technical features, weight and the materials used.
The events main object is to get a deeper insight into developments, trends and the likely evolution of low cost vehicles, a range that goes from 1,000 to 10,000. But people there will also be looking at the cars projection in different segments and the features that distinguish them from other ranges. Another objective is to facilitate decision-making about taking up positions in this market.
A similar event on hybrid vehicles was held in late 2009.
