Bilbao, 4.4.2012--- On Tuesday 27 March, the Financial Times once again highlighted the importance and influence of the Basque automotive industry and the AIC-Automotive Intelligence Center’ “integration effect”.

A report by journalist Miles Johnson also stressed the growth of the region’s automotive industry in recent decades. The upshot today is that a relatively small area has the capacity to house the entire vehicle production process, from steel mills to engineering firms and specialist technical universities.

Johnson also described the AIC as an R&D center, a training school and an infrastructure hub for the industry. He added that the center’s main objective was to stimulate cooperation between the numerous firms with links to the Basque automotive industry with a view to increasing the industry’s international competitiveness.
