PMG-POLMETASA inaugurates new R&D and innovation center at AIC

Bilbao, 22.11.2012–– PMG-Polmetasa today inaugurated its new automotive-oriented R&D and innovation Center at AIC-Automotive Intelligence Center.

Briefly, the new Unit has been set up to increase the value PMG-Polmetsa offers its clients by concentrating and boosting the technical and human resources employed on the application of sintered parts in automotive shock absorbers.

Manning the new unit is a high-level team of engineers and technicians from Pulvimetalurgia specialized in shock absorbers and related areas. The Unit is equipped with cutting-edge test-bench and shock absorber equipment for product life-cycle and performance trials.

German group PMG for the automotive industry, making sintered components and the systems they are used in. The group, which employs 1,200 people worldwide, bills €200 million a year.

Based in Mondragón, in the Basque region of Spain, Polmetasa specializes in the production of sintered components for shock absorbers. In the last six years it has invested around €16 million on increasing capacity and productivity, including R&D. With a total workforce of 260, the firm bills €50 million.
