AIC awarded innovation prize

Center to receive Autorevista magazine award at official gala in Madrid | 11/12/2012

Bilbao, 11.12.2012--- AIC-Automotive Intelligence Center has been honored with the Innovation Prize in AUTOREVISTA magazine’s 22nd “Automotive industry manager of the year” Awards.

Scheduled to be presented at tonight’s awards gala in Madrid, the award has gone to AIC "for the highly original initiative to create a unique knowledge center for innovation and cooperation in all areas of the automotive industry".

AIC CEO Inés Anitua described the award as “particularly gratifying” at a time like the present because, besides acknowledging the innovative model created at AIC, it also celebrated the integral nature of the Center’s activities and the remarkable progress made in such a short time.

Founded in 1959, AUTOREVISTA magazine is the only Europe-oriented Spanish publication covering the automotive industry’s entire value chain. Owned by Grupo TecniPublicaciones, Spain’s biggest technical press group, the magazine is largely bilingual, with most of its contents being published in Spanish and English.

Based on an open innovation concept, where companies improve their competitiveness through cooperation, AIC-Automotive Intelligence Center is a European center designed to generate value for the automotive industry. Very much market-oriented, the Center integrates knowledge, technology and industrial development under one umbrella. Inaugurated in January 2009, AIC has won major international acclaim. Local and international organizations have been quick to join the initiative and many are currently running projects at the Center. AIC is promoted and backed by Biscay Provincial Council, Amorebieta-Etxano and Ermua city halls, a group of leading-edge businesses from the automotive industry and Basque automotive cluster ACICAE.
