AIC launches its International Scholarship Programme for training in the Automotive Industry Sector
Internships in companies in 9 countries | 26/12/2016Bilbao, 26.12.2016--- AIC-Automotive Intelligence Center has made a commitment to creating and attracting talent to the automotive sector. With this philosophy, six years ago it launched the International Scholarships Programme with the support of the Provincial Council of Biscay, offering young people looking for such an opportunity the chance to take their first steps in the attractive, dynamic, expanding automotive sector.
These 12 scholarships (called International Approach) allow participants to receive training and acquire experience for a period of 9 months in companies located in France, Germany, Great Britain, Poland, Romania, Mexico, Slovakia, India and the United States. The scholarships are primarily aimed at engineering graduates. They will include a period of general training of 90 hours in basic aspects of the automotive industry and specific training at the companies themselves. According to Inés Anitua, a Director of AIC, "it is a success story, with more than 60 young people trained by leading companies in other countries, of which 80% are in the sector".
AIC is a foundation promoted by the Provincial Council of Biscay, the town councils of Amorebieta-Etxano and Ermua, a group of companies from the automotive industry and the ACICAE-automotive cluster in the Basque Country. There are knowledge, training, technology and industrial development activities within its structure to improve the competitiveness of the automotive industry. There are 30 organisations and more than 700 people working at its facilities.
