GM Europe and FORD of Europe Head Honchos to visit AIC

To take part in European Automotive Congress with 350 automotive industry professionals LEADER awards to be handed out to European carmakers and tier one providers for technological or innovative development | 25/05/2010

Bilbao, 25.5.2010--- The

president of General Motors Europe and the chairman of Ford Europe are to visit

AIC-Automotive Intelligence Center on June 22 and 23 during the Automotive News

Europe /ANE) European Automotive Congress which is expected to attract up to

350 professionals from the car industry.

For two days, Bilbao is set

to become the rendezvous for the European automotive industry, where vehicle

maker and supplier chiefs from all over the world will get together to analyze

experiences and look closely at present and coming trends on a broad front.

On this occasion, the

Congress runs under the title “Solutions

After a Crisis”, concentrating mainly on three major issues, the first

being intelligence, making the right decisions after a crisis, the second

innovation, finding solutions through technological advances and environmental

alternatives, and the third, integration, opportunities through collaboration

for OEMs and suppliers.

2010 speakers include carmaker executives like Ian Robertson, member of

the Board of Management, Marketing & Sales at BMW, John Fleming, executive

vice president and chairman and CEO, Ford of Europe, Nick Reilly, president of

GM Europe, Victor Muller, chief executive officer of Spyker and Saab, together

with Harald J. Wester and Alfredo Altavilla, chief technology officer and

executive vice president of business development at FIAT, respectively and

others from tier one suppliers like Magna.

An added attraction at this year’s edition are the first LEADER Awards (Leaders in European Automotive Development, Excellence and

Research) recognizing a manufacturer, supplier and retailer for technical

development and innovation excellence in the European industry.

The ANE Congress is a benchmark event in the automotive world that

attracts the main leaders in the industry to discuss issues of common interest.

The previous Congress was held two years ago in Turin.
