International experts from SEAT, TRUMPF and CLOOS to lecture on Laser Technology at AIC
Specialists will be reviewing latest progress in laser technology | 20/10/2010Bilbao, 20.10.2010--- In its ongoing bid to improve the skills and capabilities of professional in the automotive industry, on October 28 AIC-Automotive Intelligence Center will be hosting a Laser Technology Workshop designed to review the latest advances made in the technology, concentrating particularly on laser for welding and cutting applications, and covering the viewpoints of carmakers, component makers and research teams and centers.
Helping run the workshop will be international experts like Ricard Yuba (SEAT), Johannes Buehrle (TRUMPF), Ambroise Vandewynckèle (AIMEN), Johannes Platz (CLOOS SCHWEISSTECHNIK). Michel García (GESTAMP) and Mikel Bengoa (ROFIN BAASEL). The event targets quality managers, officers and technicians from the automotive industry
The use of laser in the automotive industry has increased steadily in recent years, because of the technologys major competitive advantages, which include faster manufacturing rates (meaning higher productivity), improved process automation and repeatability and a reduction in the distortions affecting process. Laser applications can be utilized in welding, cutting, perforating, marking and surface heat treatments.
This latest event is an integral part of the AIC Training Unit remit, the general objectives of which being to improve training levels for professionals in the automotive industry, regardless of their level or category, facilitate new qualifications for the industry of the future, act as an external/internal training center for businesses in the industry and attract talented people to the sector.
