Caixa report underscores pioneering, innovative nature of AIC

Bilbao, 29.11.2010--- A report entitled The Economy of the Basque Country: A Strategic Diagnosis by the Studies Service of Spanish savings bank La Caixa emphasizes the pioneering and innovative nature of AIC for the automotive industry.

According to the report, in the next few years AIC will provide major leverage in the stimulation of competitiveness in the Basque automotive industry, innovation being a powerful competitive vector.

It also describes the start-up of AIC as a “conceptual landmark”. The center was designed as an interface to facilitate B2B communication and communication between businesses and the Basque innovation system, to enable the world of ideas and competitive intelligence to forge ahead with new product and improvement projects, seeing them through to their market launch, as well as helping proactively and providing business incubator-style support for new firms still finding their feet, and in project pre-industrialization phases.

The authors of the report see AIC as a driver for value and synergy creationby bringing a specific, high-level environment into physical contact with a group of companies that use the center to integrate competitive vigilance (analyzing future scenarios for the industry), research, training and product development units and to promote innovation through B2B cooperation.
