AIC takes part in FOSTER-ROAD European Project

To reinforce transport industry research and innovation strategies in Europe | 27/05/2013

Boroa, 27.5.2013--- AIC-Automotive Intelligence Center is taking an active role in the road transport area of the FOSTER-ROAD European project. The idea is to reinforce research and innovation strategies in the Europe-wide transport industry.

To this end, FOSTER-ROAD favors work and route plans agreed by participants on key social, environmental, economic and technological challenges in areas like safety in road transport, urban mobility, long-distance goods transport, global competitiveness and a host of other energy and environment-linked issues.

FOSTER-ROAD activities include project monitoring, strategic research agendas, business models, innovation plans and coordinating research at European and national level. They also include multi-modal issues and exhaustive publicity initiatives.

Partners on this €1.9-million, three-year project include Centro Ricerche Fiat, Volkswagen, Volvo Technology, Renault, Scania, Valeo, Bosch and Continental.

AIC-Automotive Intelligence Center is an open innovation center integrating knowledge, technology and development under one umbrella in a bid to improve competitiveness in the automotive industry. AIC is a foundation promoted and backed by Biscay Provincial Council, Amorebieta-Etxano and Ermua city halls, a group of leading-edge firms from the automotive industry and Basque automotive cluster ACICAE.
