AIC renews its international grants for the automotive industry

Nine months of in-house training for holders at firms abroad More than 50 young people have already benefited from the initiative | 09/01/2015

Bilbao, 9.1.2015--- AIC-Automotive Intelligence Center and Bizkaia Provincial Council have relaunched their International Approach Grant Program for holders to train in the automotive industry, in a bid to broaden the scope of future professionals’ knowledge.

Originally launched 4 years ago, the grants are designed to enable young people to take their first steps in this demanding, attractive, dynamic growth industry. To date, 50-plus young people have benefited from the initiative and are now working in firms in the sector.

The grants begin at the end of January and involve 90 hours’ training on the automotive industry, with holders having a 2- to 3-week stay at the launch company to familiarize themselves with its structure and, in particular, the project they’ll be working on. Over the following 9 months they will then complete the assigned project at the target company under the supervision of tutors.

Grant-holders will be going to countries on a number of continents, including India, USA, China, Brazil, Mexico, Russia, Germany, France and Poland. They receive between €10,739 and €14,090 net to live on, depending on the country chosen. Requirements for grants are:
