Bilbao, 9.9.2015--- 68 students from the Renault Foundation today visited AIC-Automotive Intelligence Center to find out how the Center works and to get to know the companies housed there.
During their visit, students saw at first hand how the AIC open innovation model functions, and were shown over the Gestamp, CIE Automotive and Megatech R&D centers. Their hosts also explained the economic importance of the Basque automotive industry, later giving an account of management levels and the industrys international business interests.
Mostly engineers, the students work at the Renault Foundation on development and sustainability, mobility and the electric vehicle, road safety and international management programs.
Renault President Carlos Ghosn said the experience showed how, by working together, different cultures with different types of training could come up with the most innovative solutions.
By way of example, the Renault Foundations group included students from France, Brazil, Yemen, Algeria, Colombia, Turkey, Russia, Canada, Morocco, China, the Lebanon, Egypt, Japan, Italy and Estonia.
This is the second time a group of Renault Foundation students has visited the AIC, owing to the interest awakened by the Centers innovative model.
According to Inés Anitua, who doubles as director of AIC and Basque automotive cluster ACICAE, this visit is in line with our ongoing awareness campaign designed to alert professionals, organizations and bodies directly or indirectly involved with the automotive sector to the Basque automotive industrys capabilities.
Promoted by Bizkaia Provincial Council, Amorebieta-Etxamo and Ermua city halls, a group of cutting-edge automotive companies and Basque automotive cluster ACICAE, the AIC foundation provides a single umbrella for know-how, training, technology and industrial development initiatives designed to improve competitive levels in the automotive industry.
